About Me

I'm Jorge Catriel Lopez, a backend-focused software engineer from Argentina.

I currently work at Iquall Networks, where I design and build backend systems, automation tooling, and platform capabilities for network operations. My work has focused on scalable microservices, REST and gRPC APIs, GraphQL-backed services, PostgreSQL-based core systems, and deployment flows that span cloud and on-premise environments.

Over the past several years I have worked on automation-heavy backend platforms, including inventory services, serverless execution models, and AI-enabled operational tooling. One of the areas I enjoy most is building software that connects reliable infrastructure with intelligent automation in a way that remains traceable, safe, and practical for production use.

I'm also pursuing an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Essex, which complements my professional work with a stronger academic foundation in machine learning and applied AI. My broader interests include backend architecture, automation, scalability, performance, and data exploration.

Before moving fully into industry, I also worked as a teaching assistant and completed my Systems Engineering studies in Argentina. I enjoy working across the gap between solid engineering fundamentals and emerging AI capabilities.
